Role Description

As the Tax Manager, you will:

• Manage and review all corporate tax returns, ensuring compliance with tax laws and regulations.
• Analyze financial data, conduct tax research, and identify tax-saving opportunities for the organization.
• Collaborate with finance teams, external auditors, and tax authorities to address tax-related matters.
• Provide strategic tax planning advice to optimize the organization's tax position, including sales and use tax and personal property tax along with entity-level state and federal taxes.

Primary Job Duties & Responsibilities:

• Deliver tax strategies to optimize the company's tax position and minimize tax liabilities.
• Identify tax planning opportunities and evaluate potential tax consequences of business decisions.
• Provide recommendations to management.
• Ensure compliance with all applicable tax laws, regulations, and reporting requirements.
• Direct outsourced partners to prepare and file corporate income, sales, and property tax returns.
• Work closely with finance and accounting teams to gather financial data and ensure accurate and timely reporting.
• Review audit requests, provide necessary documentation, and work with external tax advisors or legal counsel if required.
• Conduct comprehensive tax research, interpreting tax laws and regulations.
• Stay informed about industry-specific tax developments.
• Assess tax implications of new business initiatives, mergers, and acquisitions, or other significant transactions.
• Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to gather necessary financial information for tax filings.
• Implement and monitor internal controls to ensure compliance with tax policies and procedures.
• Assess tax-related risks and recommend measures to mitigate them.
• Review opportunities to insource functions currently done by external partners and build a team as applicable.
• Provide guidance and training to employees or departments to ensure compliance with tax-related processes and policies.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of corporate tax experience.
• Experience managing a national footprint for sales and use tax, gross receipts, and property tax returns.
• Experience supporting and managing the tax calculations for audits and corporate tax filings for a large entity.
• Experience managing the tax components of the external audit.

Requirements

• Chartered Tax Professional (CTP) - Preferred.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
