Role Description
Our Tax team manages all aspects of corporate tax compliance, including income tax, provisions, state & local, sales and employment tax matters. The Tax Staff will assist in all areas of tax compliance, with an emphasis on state & local matters.
You Will:

Utilize general knowledge of federal, state, and local tax laws to assist in resolving corporate tax compliance matters

Perform general tax research to resolve issues

Assist in federal, state and local tax notice responses, including tracking and organization of all notices received

Research technical state tax issues and document conclusions with detailed memoranda

Identify and communicate tax matters to tax and accounting team members

Assist with the management of the direct federal and state, and indirect state tax compliance process

Assist in ensuring the accurate and timely filing of all returns, including income/franchise, sales & use, property tax renditions and other business-related filings

Assist in the review of ASC740 calculations

Assist in the review of state-related accruals, journal entries and related tax account reconciliations

Assist with the creation and implementation of tax-related process improvements, specifically with respect to state and local taxes and tax controversy

Communicate effectively with internal and external auditors

Calculate, research and provide information requested by management and external parties

Assist with other areas as assigned, such as tax incentives

Remain current on new SALT tax laws and regulations and consider these changes from a tax compliance and tax accounting perspective
Qualifications
-
2+ years of experience in the tax profession, with public accounting or public company experience, strongly preferred

BA or BS degree from a top-ranking university in accounting/finance/tax required

Basic knowledge of sales/use tax and income/franchise tax required

Specialized knowledge in state & local tax matters strongly preferred

CPA track preferred

Advanced Excel Skills required

Ability to think through complex problems, determine proper processes, and derive tax conclusions, and present results to the team
