Role Description
With BILL continuing to build out our Risk department, we need an Underwriting Analyst that is able to come into our environment and assist in building our Risk infrastructure. This is an opportunity to own and build something from the ground-up. The Risk team is the foundation of our company, so your position is of high-value to BILL.
What You'll Be Doing:

Participate in the development and maintenance of credit strategies, processes, and procedures

Analyze and underwrite exposures based on fundamental analysis and other predictive models

Participate in the development and maintenance of credit loss forecast

Establish and maintain effective performance tracking to ensure strategies and/or forecasts are performing as expected. Apply key learnings to update strategies/loss forecasts in a timely manner

Design and implement comprehensive tests and evaluate the financial impact of various treatments to drive enhancements

Conduct periodic reviews to ensure accurate execution
Qualifications

Experience as a credit analyst or underwriter (or other applicable experience) dealing with commercial exposures ranging from small business or middle-market to large, multinational institutions

Understanding of fundamental financial analysis

Comfort with GAAP/IFRS accounting standards

Familiarity with quantitative credit models (such as Moody's RiskCalc) and knowledge of how to interpret the outputs, and explain deviations

Comfort with public agency ratings and supporting analysis

Understanding of current macroeconomic trends and how to provide recommendations to improve the PD estimation based on the business cycle

5 years experience rating and/or underwriting at a leading financial institution or rating agency

Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, economics, business, or statistics (graduate degree a plus)

Chartered Financial Analyst program candidacy a plus
