[Hiring] Senior Tax Accountant @Launch Legends

Role Description

As a part-time Senior Tax Accountant with blockchain expertise in an equity-based cofounder role, you will lead tax strategy, compliance, and accounting for complex digital asset transactions, token economics, DePIN operations, and international operations. You will ensure accurate financial reporting for cryptocurrencies, staking rewards, DeFi activities, and enterprise on-chain integrations while optimizing tax efficiency in this rapidly evolving space.

Key Responsibilities

• Tax Compliance & Reporting
  • Manage domestic and international tax compliance for digital assets, including income recognition, capital gains, and VAT/GST implications of blockchain transactions.
  • Prepare and review tax provisions, returns, and workpapers for crypto-related activities (staking, liquidity provision, token distributions).
  • Ensure compliance with IRS, GAAP/IFRS digital asset accounting standards (e.g., fair value measurement, revenue recognition).
• Tax Strategy & Optimization
  • Develop tax-efficient structures for token launches, DePIN networks, and global operations.
  • Advise on transfer pricing, permanent establishment risks, and international tax treaties relevant to decentralized infrastructure.
  • Support R&D tax credits and incentives for blockchain and AI development activities.
• Accounting Operations & Systems
  • Implement and maintain robust accounting processes for high-volume on-chain transactions using specialized crypto accounting tools.
  • Integrate blockchain data (wallets, smart contracts, oracles) into financial systems for real-time reporting and reconciliation.
  • Lead month-end close, financial statement preparation, and audit readiness with focus on digital assets.
• Leadership & Innovation
  • Collaborate with legal, finance, engineering, and product teams on tax implications of new features and business models.
  • Monitor evolving tax regulations for crypto, DeFi, and Web3 globally and provide proactive guidance.
  • Contribute to thought leadership through whitepapers or industry presentations on blockchain taxation.

Qualifications

• Required:
  • CPA certification and/or advanced degree in Accounting/Taxation.
  • 6+ years of tax accounting experience, with at least 3 years specializing in cryptocurrency, digital assets, or blockchain projects.
  • Hands-on experience with digital asset accounting (wallets, exchanges, staking, NFTs, DeFi protocols).
  • Proficiency with tax software, ERP systems, and crypto-specific tools (e.g., for transaction analysis and reporting).
• Preferred:
  • Experience at a crypto exchange, blockchain protocol, DeFi project, or Big 4 with crypto client portfolio.
  • Knowledge of international tax for global blockchain operations.
  • Familiarity with Layer-1 protocols, tokenomics, and DePIN economics.
• Soft Skills:
  • Analytical mindset with strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to explain complex tax concepts to non-tax technical teams.
  • Passion for blockchain innovation and regulatory evolution.

Deliverables (90 Days)

• Complete tax compliance assessment and prioritized action plan for Autheo’s current operations and roadmap.
• Implemented processes for tracking and reporting on-chain transactions, staking rewards, and token activities.
• Initial tax optimization strategies for planned token sales, DePIN incentives, and international expansion.
• Integration of crypto accounting tools into financial workflows.
• Comprehensive tax memorandum on key issues (digital asset classification, revenue recognition for DevHub, etc.).
• Support for upcoming audit preparation with clean digital asset ledger reconciliation.

Compensation & Growth Path

This is a part-time equity/token-based cofounder opportunity. You will receive equity in Launch Legends, Autheo, and the WFO Creator Network, along with token allocations in the Autheo blockchain. We have already completed an initial financing round to support infrastructure and marketing, and are currently in discussions with VCs and crypto investors to fund expansion and salaries. Salaried compensation is expected to begin within 4 to 5 months, following our node, token sales or funding.
