[Hiring] Senior Tax Accountant @AlphaX

Role Description

This role involves working as a Senior Tax Accountant in a fully remote position, focusing on strategic tax planning and review rather than traditional compliance.

• Review individual, partnership, S corporation, and corporate tax returns prepared by offshore staff
• Identify technical inaccuracies, compliance risks, and missed tax planning opportunities
• Provide proactive tax strategy insights to optimize client outcomes
• Improve internal review workflows and increase operational efficiency
• Offer structured feedback and mentorship to remote team members
• Communicate directly with clients on complex tax matters and advisory issues
• Review and adjust QuickBooks financial statements to ensure tax readiness
• Collaborate with leadership to refine processes and improve turnaround time

Qualifications

• 5–7+ years of public accounting tax experience
• Strong hands-on experience with UltraTax (Thomson Reuters)
• Solid working knowledge of QuickBooks
• Proven experience reviewing tax returns (not just preparing them)
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
• Ability to thrive in a remote, systems-oriented environment
• Entrepreneurial mindset with a continuous improvement approach
• Self-directed professional who performs well without micromanagement
