[Hiring] Senior Platform Manager, Data Products, Finance Accounting @Airbnb

Role Description

As a Senior Platform Manager on the Finance Accounting Platform team, you will be embedded in a rich, cross-functional community spanning the full breadth of Airbnb’s business. You’ll partner daily with:

• Product and Platform Managers across Payments, Trust, Guest & Host, Pricing, Insurance, Hotels, and Customer Service
• Finance stakeholders from Revenue Controllership, Treasury, Tax, Payments Legal, Consolidation, Collections, and Cash
• Data Engineers and Oracle Applications teams
• FP&A and Business Unit teams

The Difference You Will Make

You will be the strategic and operational owner of the finance accounting platform, with impact across three dimensions:

• Scaling the platform with Airbnb’s ambitions:
  • Define and drive the long-term roadmap for the finance accounting platform.
  • Own prioritization across a high-volume platform funnel.
  • Continuously identify opportunities to optimize platform performance and reliability.
• Bringing new products to life on the accounting platform:
  • Lead the effort end-to-end for new product launches.
  • Translate complex product changes into well-designed accounting workflows.
• Strengthening the financial foundation:
  • Define and refine data pipeline monitoring controls.
  • Support month-end close processes.
  • Partner with Finance stakeholders to automate manual operational workflows.

A Typical Day

• Syncing with a cross-functional Product Manager to understand an upcoming product change.
• Reviewing a technical spec with Data Engineering for a new accounting workflow.
• Running a UAT session with Revenue Controllership and Tax stakeholders.
• Pulling and analyzing ad hoc data using SQL.
• Triaging and prioritizing new requests coming into the platform funnel.
• Reviewing data pipeline monitoring alerts with engineering.
• Leading a working session with Treasury or Collections.
• Drafting a platform update for a senior Finance stakeholder.

Qualifications

• Subject matter expert in accounting principles and ASC 606 revenue recognition.
• Proven experience implementing end-to-end accounting workflows.
• Hands-on experience supporting B2C product workflows on finance platforms.
• Solid SQL skills and ability to work with large, complex datasets.
• Deep understanding of big data principles.
• Strong grasp of transactional data characteristics.
• Familiarity with subledger to General Ledger data flows.
• Experience working with Oracle FAH, General Ledger, or equivalent ERP platforms.
• Ability to engage with technical design documents.
• Familiarity with data pipeline architecture and monitoring controls.
• Actively leverages AI tools and technologies.
• 6+ years of experience in platform management, product management, or technical program management.
• Demonstrated ability to own and manage a complex, multi-stakeholder platform roadmap.
• Proven track record of driving end-to-end delivery.
• Experience operating in Agile and continuous delivery models.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong influencing skills and high EQ.
• Detail-oriented and highly analytical.
• Proficiency with Google Workspace, Slack, Zoom, and modern collaboration tools.

Education

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Accounting, Finance, or a related technical field.

Your Location

This position is US - Remote Eligible. The role may include occasional work at an Airbnb office or attendance at offsites, as agreed to with your manager.

Our job titles may span more than one career level. The actual base pay is dependent upon many factors. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future. This role may also be eligible for bonus, equity, benefits, and Employee Travel Credits.

Pay Range: $179,000 — $207,000 USD
