[Hiring] Senior Financial Planner @Common Wealth Retirement

Role Description

This is an opportunity to reinvent the way Canadians access financial advice. Unlike a traditional financial planning role, this position is not focused on selling products. Instead, you’ll be part of a team working to change how Canadians plan and make confident financial decisions, bringing high-quality advice and education to people for whom this traditionally hasn’t been accessible.

As a Senior Financial Planner on the team, you will be relied upon to help build out our service offering, grow the practice, and support our members with more complex financial lives.

You will play a key role in scaling Common Wealth’s financial planning function. As an early hire on a fast-growing team, this is a hands-on role that blends direct member engagement with entrepreneurialism focused on scalable advice, blending human and digital planning to deliver value.

You’ll work with more junior Financial Planners to help build the team’s capacity and scale a thriving practice. You will engage directly with plan members to deliver personalized financial plans using Conquest, while also contributing to webinars, articles, and other educational resources that help members build confidence and clarity on their financial journey.

This role is ideal for a planner who is passionate about technology, enjoys building trusted one-on-one relationships, and thrives when taking on new and exciting challenges.

Qualifications

• You hold your CFP® designation
• You have experience providing holistic financial planning to individuals
• You enjoy helping people and feel empowered to make informed decisions
• You’re skilled at presenting to groups virtually and contributing to written content such as articles or guides
• You take joy in empowering other planners to grow and improve
• You’re confident working in a digital-first environment and comfortable using financial planning software
• You value efficiency, clarity, and great member experiences, without losing sight of the importance of human connection
• You're energized by the pace of change in fintech and bring a growth mindset, eager to experiment, iterate, and help shape how AI and emerging tools transform the financial planning experience for members

Requirements

• Experience in the group retirement or benefits industry (nice to have)
• Experience with Conquest financial planning software (nice to have)
• Experience as an advice-only financial planner (nice to have)
• Fluency in French (nice to have)
