Role Description
The Senior Financial Accountant is responsible for maintaining the integrity of financial records across multiple entities, ensuring accurate reporting, robust reconciliations, and timely month-end close. This role plays a key part in strengthening financial controls, enhancing operational efficiency, and supporting the continued growth and scalability of the finance function.

Financial Operations & Reconciliations:

Perform and maintain accurate bank reconciliations across all entities and accounts.

Ensure completeness and accuracy of general ledger transactions, including appropriate coding and classification in Xero.

Prepare and roll forward working papers to support the month-end and year-end close processes.

Maintain strong balance sheet integrity through regular reconciliations and review.

Accounts Payable & Receivable:

Oversee the full AP and AR lifecycle, including invoice processing, payment preparation, allocation of receipts, and management of outstanding balances.

Monitor aged receivables and proactively manage collections to support cash flow.

Ensure accurate GST treatment and transaction recording.

Payroll & Compliance Support:

Assist with payroll accounting, including preparation of journals and reconciliation of payroll-related accounts.

Support ATO compliance requirements, including preparation and review of BAS and other activity statements.

Maintain documentation to ensure audit readiness and regulatory compliance.

Reporting & Analysis:

Assist in the preparation of consolidated accounts across multiple entities.

Prepare P&L and balance sheet work papers, including variance analysis and supporting commentary.

Contribute to the preparation of monthly management reporting packs for internal and external stakeholders.

Multi-Entity & Global Accounting:

Manage accounting processes for multiple entities operating across global regions, ensuring consistency, compliance, and accuracy.

Oversee FX transactions and foreign currency reconciliations, ensuring appropriate treatment of realised and unrealised gains or losses.

Process Improvement & Finance Development:

Identify opportunities to improve processes, systems, and internal controls.

Support the development of scalable financial structures and documentation.

Partner with the Finance Manager to build strong operational foundations for future team expansion.

Finance Administration:

Manage the finance inbox, respond to queries, and allocate items for processing in a timely manner.
Qualifications

Bachelorβs degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline.

CPA or CA qualification (or working toward completion) preferred.

3β5 yearsβ experience in a Financial Accountant or similar role.

Strong proficiency in Xero and Google Workspace (Sheets, Docs).

Solid understanding of Australian accounting standards and ATO compliance requirements.

Experience working across multiple entities and, ideally, multi-currency environments.

Demonstrated ability to improve processes and enhance finance operations.

Strong analytical capability, attention to detail, and problem-solving skills.

Effective communication skills, with confidence engaging global stakeholders.

Highly organised, proactive, and capable of managing competing priorities in a remote setting.
