[Hiring] Senior Bookkeeper / Fractional Accounting Manager @Workstory

Role Description

We are seeking an experienced senior bookkeeper / fractional accounting manager to achieve our full-cycle monthly accounting process and reporting requirements. This role works with and reports to a small experienced senior finance team.

• Manage full-cycle bookkeeping in Sage Accounting
• Process accounts payable and oversee banking activity
• Run payroll and manage CRA remittances
• Administer employee benefits and reconcile provider invoices
• Manage shareholder payments and reconciliations
• Review, verify, reconcile monthly credit card transactions
• Perform month-end close, including reconciliations and accruals
• Prepare monthly financial statements (P&L, Balance Sheet)
• Coordinate with external CPA for year-end reporting and compliance
• Maintain clean, audit-ready financial records

Qualifications

• 7+ years of full-cycle bookkeeping / accounting experience
• Proven hands-on experience with Sage Accounting
• Strong knowledge of Canadian payroll and CRA requirements
• Experience with SaaS business, and online payment providers
• Experience with multi-currency accounting
• High attention to detail and strong ownership mindset
• Ability to work independently in a remote environment

• Part-time / fractional (approx. 20–30 hours per month)
• Fully remote role - Vancouver, BC area preferred
