[Hiring] Senior Analyst, Pricing & Monetization @Block

Role Description

Square’s Strategic Finance team partners with our go-to-market leaders to make sure our biggest commercial decisions drive both growth and profitability. As a Senior Analyst on our Pricing & Monetization team, reporting to our Deal Desk Lead, you’ll shape how Square prices its largest partnerships, from individual deal structures to the portfolio-level targets and guardrails behind them.

• Advise on complex deals:
  • Partner cross-functionally to build custom pricing and incentive proposals for some of the most exciting brands in the world.
• Set pricing guardrails:
  • Design portfolio-level pricing targets and deal-level guardrails that let teams move quickly while protecting margin.
• Scale the operating model:
  • Build and refine the processes we use to price and approve large deals across many teams.
• Track the market:
  • Analyze pricing trends across Square’s portfolio and the broader payments industry, and turn what you find into recommendations.
• Present to leadership:
  • Turn complex models into clear recommendations for senior leaders.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years of related experience with a Bachelor’s degree; or 3 years and a Master’s degree; or a PhD without experience; or equivalent work experience.
• Advanced financial modeling skills, including building P&L and unit economics models from scratch.
• Sound commercial judgment when weighing growth, margin, and risk in a deal.
• Experience building trusted relationships with senior leaders and presenting analysis and recommendations that shape their decisions.
• A track record of owning projects end to end, from framing the question to implementing the decision.
• A habit of building repeatable systems rather than one-off answers, and comfort using AI tools to scale your work.
