Role Description

We are seeking a highly experienced Sr. Accountant to support the Director of Finance in overseeing the organization's global accounting operations. This role is responsible for ensuring the integrity of financial reporting, managing global payroll operations, overseeing client invoicing processes, and handling day-to-day accounting activities. The Sr. Accountant will play a critical role in maintaining compliance, optimizing financial processes, improving internal accounting procedures, and providing strategic insights to support business growth. This is a hands-on role requiring strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to collaborate across teams to ensure accurate financial reporting and informed decision-making.

Key Responsibilities

• Financial Reporting & Accounting Operations
  • Partner with the Director of Finance to oversee global accounting operations and ensure accurate, timely, and GAAP-compliant financial reporting.
  • Lead the monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes, including general ledger management, account reconciliations, and financial statement preparation.
  • Maintain and strengthen accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls to ensure compliance and mitigate risk.
  • Analyze financial results and provide insights to support business and executive decision-making.
• Global Payroll & Compliance
  • Oversee global payroll operations, ensuring timely and accurate payments to employees and contractors across multiple jurisdictions.
  • Manage and optimize payroll platforms, including Bitwage, Wise, Deel, and Payoneer.
  • Ensure compliance with international payroll regulations, tax requirements, and applicable labor laws.
• Revenue Operations & Client Billing
  • Oversee end-to-end client invoicing, revenue tracking, collections, and revenue recognition processes.
  • Develop and enhance scalable billing and revenue processes aligned with business growth.
  • Partner with Sales and Operations teams to ensure alignment between contracts, CRM data, invoicing, and revenue reporting.
• Systems, Process Improvement & Business Partnership
  • Monitor cash flow related to payroll, vendor payments, and receivables to support financial stability.
  • Evaluate and optimize financial systems, workflows, and automation to improve efficiency, scalability, and accuracy.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to drive process improvements, strengthen controls, and support organizational growth.
  • Provide financial analysis, reporting, and strategic recommendations to support leadership and key business initiatives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration required; MBA preferred.
• CPA certification is strongly preferred.
• Minimum of 5 years of progressive accounting experience, including leadership responsibilities.
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles, GAAP, financial reporting, and internal controls.
• Experience managing global payroll and multi-entity accounting environments.
• Advanced knowledge of general ledger management, account reconciliations, and financial close processes.
• Hands-on experience with accounting systems such as QuickBooks or similar platforms; QuickBooks experience is strongly preferred.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Strong understanding of revenue recognition, billing systems, and sales operations alignment.
• Hands-on experience with platforms such as Bitwage, Wise, Deel, and Payoneer.
• Deep understanding of international payroll operations, contractor payments, and currency management.
• Familiarity with CRM systems such as HubSpot or Salesforce.
• Excellent analytical, organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills, with the ability to present financial information to executive leadership.
• High attention to detail and ability to thrive in a hands-on environment.
• Experience in SaaS, healthcare, or technology-driven organizations is a plus.

• Hours: Must be available during standard US business hours (9:00 AM – 5:00 PM EST or 8:30 AM – 4:30 PM EST)
