Role Description
We are currently seeking a Senior Accounting Advisor - GL & Intercompany to join our team in Remote, Wilayah Persekutuan Kuala Lumpur (MY-14), Malaysia (MY).

They may lead or guide others on cross-functional projects outside of their own department.

Develops project plans and schedules, including requirements, tasks, work assignments, resources, milestones, review points and reporting of project status.

Responsible for preparation of dashboard and management reporting.

Assist Auditors by providing requisite supporting documents.
-
Analyzes and prepares financial reports for leadership including identification of issues and trends.
-
Develops models, designs report and gathers information from systems.
Qualifications
-
Bachelorβs Degree in Finance/Accounting or professional qualification.
-
Minimum working experience of 8+ years, preferably in an accounting firm and/or MNC.

Excellent communication skills & proficient in English.

Skilled in using Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Powerpoint etc). SAP user knowledge is an added advantage.

Exert knowledge of relevant accounting practices and principles.

Possess strong analytical, problem solving and critical thinking skill.

Strong time management and organization skills with the ability to multi-task.

Requirements
-
Manage end-to-end intercompany accounting activities for assigned legal entities, including monthly intercompany reconciliations, confirmations, settlements, and eliminations.

Prepare, review, and post intercompany journal entries for management fees, recharges, loans, interest, cost allocations, and cross-charges.

Ensure intercompany balances, transactions, and profit margins are accurately recorded and matched between counterparties.

Investigate and resolve intercompany discrepancies, aged balances, unmatched invoices, currency differences etc.

Coordinate closely with tax, treasury, accounts payable/receivable, and business stakeholders to resolve issues.

Support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing activities, including intercompany balance sheet reconciliations and fluctuation analysis.

Monitor compliance with accounting policies, internal controls, transfer pricing policies, and applicable accounting standards.

Assist with intercompany netting and settlement processes, working with treasury where required.

Support internal and external audit requests by providing reconciliations, schedules, transaction support, and explanations of variances.

Identify process gaps and drive continuous improvements, including standardization, automation, and simplification of intercompany processes.

Develop and maintain intercompany process documentation, reconciliation templates, and key control procedures.

Provide guidance and support to junior accounting team members where applicable.

To lead an existing Intercompany mismatch resolution project.
-
Actively involved in an existing intercompany mismatch resolution project across multiple legal entities and regions.
-
Maintain and continuously update the Intercompany Mismatch Grid to track outstanding balances, aging, root causes, owners, and resolution status.

Coordinate with relevant intercompany counterparts to investigate, validate, and resolve outstanding mismatches within agreed timelines.

Propose and process appropriate accounting corrections, reclassifications, accruals, or adjustment entries when required.

Escalate long-outstanding, high-value, or complex items to relevant stakeholders and drive closure.

Ensure all resolution actions are properly supported, documented, and approved in line with internal control requirements.

Support group consolidation by ensuring intercompany balances are accurately matched and elimination entries are complete and timely.

Provide regular progress updates, aging analysis, and key issue reporting to management.

Identify recurring root causes and recommend process improvements to prevent future intercompany mismatches.
