Role Description

Accountant Sr leads month-end close activities and financial reporting, ensuring accurate, complete, and timely accounting records. This role serves as a subject matter expert and trusted resource for corporate and affiliate teams, providing financial analysis, interpreting results against established benchmarks, and delivering insights that support informed business decisions.

• Oversees key financial processes and internal controls.
• Prepares and explains budgets and financial statements.
• Identifies opportunities for process and financial system improvements.
• Supports compliance and audit activities.
• Provides guidance, mentorship, and structure to accounting team members and interns.

Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance, or equivalent experience in lieu of a degree.
• Experience: Minimum of three years of professional experience in accounting and/or finance.

• Preferred Education: MBA or master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related business field.
• Preferred Experience: Three years of experience working in a large organization, including ERP systems and subsystem integrations.
• Industry Experience: Three years of experience in healthcare finance.

Requirements

• Leads month-end close and financial reporting, analyzing financial statements, investigating variances, and ensuring accurate, timely reporting.
• Reviews Staff Accountant work, prepares journal entries, maintains balance sheet reconciliations, and ensures compliance with GAAP and organizational policies.
• Supports corporate departments and affiliates with budget preparation, financial analysis, performance monitoring, and reporting.
• Oversees financial systems and data integrations across Accounting, Payroll, and expense accounting, including system upgrades, testing, and enhancements.
• Identifies and implements process improvements to strengthen financial controls, reporting accuracy, operational efficiency, and system functionality.
• Prepares and presents financial reports, budgets, key performance indicators, and audit results to executive leadership and governing bodies.
• Coordinates audit activities, supports special projects, resolves accounting inquiries, and provides training, guidance, and mentorship to accounting staff.
