Role Description

We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Accountant, Merchandise Accounting, to join our Corporate Accounting team. The Senior Accountant will report to the Director, Merchandise Accounting. This is a remote position.

The Senior Accountant, Merchandise Accounting, supports full-cycle and operational accounting as it relates to retail inventory. Responsibilities include:

• Variance and reserve analysis
• Supporting the three-way matching process
• Inventory reconciliations to ensure accuracy and integrity
• Contributing to month-end close, financial reporting, and inventory analytics
• Supporting audit preparation, budgeting, and forecasting through cross-functional partnership

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required; CPA license required
• Big 4 or national firm public accounting experience preferred
• 5+ years of accounting or relevant experience
• Analytical, accurate, organized, and detail-oriented
• Working knowledge of an ERP system required, preferably PeopleSoft
• Experience with analysis and reconciliation of complex accounts
• Aptitude and willingness to learn new software applications
• Thorough understanding of accounting rules under US GAAP
• Ability to perform effectively under pressure
• Demonstrated ability to adhere to standard operating procedures
• Skilled in developing relationships across the Company
• Highly motivated professional with strong initiative and work ethic
• Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
• Proficient use of Microsoft Office programs including Word, Excel, and Outlook

Requirements

• Ability to sit and work at a computer keyboard for extended periods of time
• Ability to stoop, kneel, bend at the waist, and reach daily
• Able to lift and move up to 25 pounds occasionally
• Must utilize visual acuity, speech and hearing, hand and eye coordination and manual dexterity necessary to operate a computer and office equipment
• Hours regularly 40 hours per week, as work dictates, from a remote office location

The starting salary for this position is $90,000 – $123,700. Actual compensation within this range will be determined based on factors such as skills, experience, and qualifications. Over time, and subject to performance, tenure, and evolving responsibilities, total compensation for this role may grow to as much as $168,210. Other compensation may include a 10% Annual Incentive Plan (AIP) bonus paid out according to policy. Base pay information is based on market location and may be subject to prevailing wage laws, if applicable.
