[Hiring] Senior Accountant @Evening Post Publishing

Role Description

Provides high-level accounting support to Evening Post Publishing and its affiliates.

Responsibilities:

• Responsible to maintain certain balance sheet reconciliations across the company.
• Responsible to maintain list of all balance sheet reconciliations for the company and track completeness.
• Actively participate in monthly and quarterly financial reporting – journal entry preparation/posting, investigate variances, month end report creation and distribution.
• Attend monthly financial review meetings and provide financial information as requested.
• Review Foundation accounts and ensure monthly billings are accurate and complete.
• Assist with annual external financial review.
• Backup support for daily bank deposits when staff accountant is out of the office.
• Measure newspaper on weekdays and prepare postal numbers for circulation department.
• Participate in special projects.
• Assist in ensuring internal controls are adequate and followed.
• Perform other duties as requested by management.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Business or a Related Field.
• Five years + of accounting experience, preferred.
• Strong attention to detail.
• A team player with a strong work ethic.
• Ability to work remotely, if necessary, in a suitable workspace that meets safety guidelines.
• Reliable access to internet services.
