Role Description

Property Accountant

Type: Full-time (Contractor, Remote – LATAM or Asia)

Schedule: 9:00 AM – 5:30 PM U.S. PST

Core Responsibilities

• Manage financial reporting for an assigned portfolio of 45–50 multifamily properties.
• Perform month-end close tasks including reconciliations, journal entries, accruals, reclassifications, and variance explanations.
• Coordinate with AP/AR to ensure property-level accuracy.
• Conduct budget vs. actual variance analysis and explain drivers.
• Partner directly with Property Managers to support property-level decisions and answer leadership reporting requests.
• Help standardize accounting workflows, establish consistency, and build structure as the team scales.

Qualifications

• 3+ years in accounting, including 1+ years in property accounting (supporting U.S. companies preferred).
• Strong grasp of financial statements, month-end close procedures, and proactive discrepancy resolution (beyond basic data entry).
• Experience with Yardi, AppFolio, or similar property management software preferred.
• Excellent written and spoken English (stakeholder/PM-facing role).
• Strong attention to detail.
• Proactive problem-solving mindset.
