Role Description
As a Property Accountant, you'll own the full accounting operations for a defined group of vacation rental property management companies β serving as their primary accounting resource, driving standardization, and playing a hands-on role in integrating them into our consolidated platform. This is a ground-floor opportunity to help build the processes and standards that will define how accounting works across our growing portfolio.
What You'll Own
-
Portfolio Accounting Operations:
You own the day-to-day and month-end accounting for your assigned portfolio of companies β including:
-
Bank reconciliations
-
Trust account management
-
Owner statement generation
-
Payment processing
-
Occupancy tax remittance
-
General ledger recording
When things aren't clean, you make them clean.
-
Monthly Close:
You drive the close process within your assigned property management systems, ensuring all transactions are finalized accurately and on time to support consolidated reporting.
-
Field Partnership & Customer Service:
You are the accounting face of HQ to your portfolio companies. That means being responsive, knowledgeable, and solutions-oriented when local operators, owners, and back-office teams come to you with accounting questions, system issues, or payment escalations.
-
Integration & Standardization:
You'll play an active role in onboarding newly acquired companies onto our accounting systems and standards β including contributing to our NetSuite ERP integration alongside the technology and accounting teams β and driving harmonization of charts of accounts, policies, and procedures across your portfolio.
-
Process Improvement:
You don't just maintain β you improve. You'll identify opportunities to streamline workflows, tighten controls, and raise the standard of accounting operations across your assigned companies.
Qualifications
-
A strong accounting foundation β you understand the fundamentals and can apply them in a fast-moving, multi-entity environment.
-
A genuine customer service mindset β you're comfortable being a trusted resource to field operators and representing the accounting organization with professionalism and care.
-
Comfort with ambiguity β escalation frameworks are still being built, and you'll need good judgment about when to act and when to ask.
-
A bias toward clean β you're not satisfied with "good enough" and you'll roll up your sleeves on a clean-up effort without being asked twice.
-
Experience with property management accounting systems (Guesty, Streamline, Track, or similar).
Requirements
-
This is a full-time, work-from-home set-up. You need to have your own workspace, and a reliable and stable internet connection with a speed of not less than 100mbps.
-
The schedule for this role aligns with the US working hours. You must be agreeable to work night shift and during PH holidays.
Preferred but not required
-
2+ years of progressive accounting experience, ideally in public accounting, a startup, or a high-growth environment; we're open to slightly more senior candidates with the right mix of skills.
-
Experience with NetSuite.
-
Advanced Excel skills.
-
Background in vacation rental, hospitality, or property management.
-
Experience in a PE-backed, roll-up, or M&A-intensive environment.
-
CPA license.
Benefits
-
This isn't a maintenance role β it's a build role. You'll have real ownership over the accounting operations for your portfolio, a direct hand in shaping the processes and standards we scale across the company, and a front-row seat to the growth of a first-of-its-kind vacation rental alliance.
-
For someone who performs, the path forward is clear: as we continue to acquire and expand, there's room to grow into a manager-level role leading a team of Property Accountants across a larger portfolio.
-
If you want to do more than execute someone else's playbook, this is the place to do it.
