Role Description
We're a fast-growing hospitality property management company looking for a Portfolio Controller to own the accounting and financial reporting for a portfolio of roughly 30 properties. You'll partner closely with Operations and Asset Management, deliver accurate financials to internal stakeholders and external property owners, and help us build scalable, tech-enabled finance operations as we grow. This role reports directly to our VP of Finance and will manage one team member.
What You'll Do

Prepare and present timely, accurate financial reports (monthly, annual, and ad hoc) for your assigned portfolio to internal stakeholders and external property owners.

Lead the annual budgeting and periodic forecasting process for your portfolio, partnering with Operations and Asset Management.

Own the general ledger for your assigned region; independently complete higher-complexity accounting work.

Present financial insights clearly and actionably to support good decision-making by operations and asset management teams.

Ensure compliance with the financial terms of property contracts (management agreements, lease agreements, etc.).

Prepare owner-facing financial statements in compliance with management agreement terms.

Perform variance analysis, trend analysis, and scenario planning to support business decisions.

Oversee and ensure accuracy of reconciliations completed by our centralized/offshore accounting team.

Lead process improvement and automation initiatives; partner with offshore team members to identify and implement efficiencies.

Build strong relationships with regional teams as the go-to contact for accounting matters; lead regular financial review meetings.

Deliver a high level of service and responsiveness to property partners and internal teams.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA preferred.

5+ years of accounting or finance experience in the hospitality industry (required).

Experience managing accounting and financial reporting for a portfolio of 10+ hotels, vacation rentals, or hospitality properties simultaneously (required).

Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP, general ledger accounting, month-end close, account reconciliations, and financial statement preparation.

Experience owning annual budgets, forecasts, and variance analysis for a multi-property portfolio.

Experience presenting financials, budgets, and business insights to property owners or other external stakeholders.

Strong analytical and business-partnering skills, with the ability to identify financial risks and recommend solutions.

Advanced Excel skills; experience with ERP systems.

Comfort using technology and AI tools to automate and improve finance workflows.

100% fluency in written and spoken English.

Ability to work hours that overlap with U.S. Pacific through Eastern time zones (some flexibility on overlap available).

Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and able to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
Benefits

Compensation: $60,000 - $70,000 USD annually, based on experience.

100% Remote (open to candidates in Romania, Hungary, Bulgaria, Colombia, Costa Rica, or Argentina).
