[Hiring] Payroll Tax & Compliance Specialist @Eastridge Workforce Solutions

Role Description

The Payroll Tax Specialist is responsible for ensuring accurate and timely processing of all payroll tax obligations at the federal, state, and local levels. This role works closely with Payroll, HR, and Finance to maintain compliance with ever-changing tax regulations and resolve tax-related discrepancies.

Responsibilities & Expectations

• Process and reconcile federal, state, and local payroll tax filings (941, 940, W-2s, etc.)
• Ensure timely payroll tax deposits and payments in accordance with regulatory deadlines
• Respond to tax agency notices and resolve discrepancies
• Maintain and update employee tax withholding records
• Conduct audits and reconciliations of payroll tax accounts
• Stay current on changes to payroll tax laws and regulations
• Partner with HR and Finance on year-end processing (W-2s, ACA reporting, etc.)
• Support system implementations and updates related to tax compliance (e.g., ADP, Workday, Ceridian)
• Prepare reports and documentation for internal and external audits

Requirements

• 2+ years of payroll tax experience
• Strong knowledge of federal and multi-state payroll tax regulations
• Strong Excel skills and attention to detail

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with payroll systems (ADP, Workday, Paycom, Avionte or similar)
• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred
• CPP (Certified Payroll Professional) certification a plus
