Role Description
The Remote Payroll Clerk will play a vital role in ensuring accurate and timely processing of payroll for our employees. This position requires strong attention to detail, confidentiality, and the ability to work independently in a remote environment. The ideal candidate will have experience with payroll systems, a solid understanding of payroll regulations, and excellent organizational skills.

Process bi-weekly and monthly payroll in accordance with federal, state, and local regulations

Collect, verify, and input employee timekeeping data, deductions, commissions, and bonuses

Review and audit payroll reports for accuracy and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner

Maintain and update payroll records and employee information in the HRIS/payroll system

Respond to employee inquiries regarding payroll issues, wage calculations, and deductions

Collaborate with HR and Finance departments to ensure consistent, compliant, and accurate data flow

Prepare payroll-related reports for management and auditing purposes

Stay up-to-date with changes in payroll laws and regulations affecting the company

Ensure confidentiality and security of all payroll information and employee data

Assist with year-end processes, including W-2 and other tax-related filings

Support additional administrative or payroll tasks as required
Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate's degree or higher in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field preferred

Minimum of 2 years of payroll processing experience, preferably in a remote or distributed team environment

Proficiency with payroll software (e.g., ADP, Paychex, QuickBooks Payroll, or similar) and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook)

Strong understanding of payroll principles, wage and hour laws, and tax regulations

Exceptional attention to detail, accuracy, and organizational skills

Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with integrity

Effective communication skills, both written and verbal

Ability to work independently, meet deadlines, and manage multiple tasks simultaneously
