Role Description
We are seeking a highly capable and hands-on Accountant to take ownership of the company’s finance function. This role is responsible for building and maintaining accurate internal management accounts up to trial balance, while also providing commercial insight, operational analysis, and performance-driven recommendations. While bookkeeping and data integrity form a critical foundation of the role, the primary focus is on understanding the numbers, analysing performance, and driving improvement across the business.
You will work directly with the owner, a Chartered Accountant and senior management consultant, gaining exposure to commercial decision-making, business strategy, and consulting-style projects. There is genuine scope for the role to grow into broader operations and commercial management, for a candidate who demonstrates ownership, initiative, and the ability to translate analysis into action. This is not a passive reporting role. It is suited to someone who wants to build, understand, and improve a business from the inside out. This role requires someone comfortable operating at both detailed and commercial levels. Candidates seeking a purely senior, hands-off, or review-only position should not apply.
