Role Description

Your accounting degree is not becoming obsolete. It is becoming more powerful. At BRIDGE IN, the people handling compliance for international companies expanding into Portugal, Spain, and Italy still work with spreadsheets. We are not going to pretend otherwise. What is different is that we are actively replacing the repetitive, soul-crushing parts of that work with automation and AI agents, and you will be part of building that transition. The goal is for the team to spend more time on judgment, analysis, and stakeholder trust, and less time on things a script can do. We are not there yet. But we are moving fast, and joining now means you shape how it gets done.

This is a real internship with a real ending: complete the 6 months successfully, and you move into a full-time work contract. No vague promises.

This role sits at the core of what we sell. The accounting function is not a support function here. It is the product.

What You'll Be Doing

• Maintain daily accounting records for BRIDGE IN and a portfolio of international customers, working with multi-country regulatory frameworks from day one
• Prepare and submit VAT returns and year-end corporate tax filings, including direct communication with the Portuguese Tax Authority (AT)
• Own month-end closing and reporting for consolidation in multinational structures
• Dig into trends, spot inconsistencies, and present findings clearly to internal teams and customers. Not just flag problems, but bring a point of view
• Support customers with accounting and tax queries, handling sensitive financial information with full confidentiality and professionalism
• Use BRIDGE IN's AI agents and automation tools to eliminate repetitive, low-value tasks so your time goes toward work that actually requires your expertise

Qualifications

• A degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a closely related field
• Full professional fluency in both Portuguese and English
• Active OCC certification or active willingness to pursue it
• You are detail-oriented without being paralyzed by imperfection, you can close the books and move
• You are genuinely curious about how technology changes compliance work, not threatened by it
• You take ownership. If something is off, you find it, flag it, and propose a fix
