Role Description

This is an exciting role to join the Specialist team in an Investment Specialist role within the Life Assurance Division. We have a clear strategy to grow our market share over the next few years by launching new propositions to market and further leveraging our financial strength and strong brand in the UK advisory marketplace.

You will be joining a highly experienced and knowledgeable team to provide technical and proposition support to other areas of the business, most notably the UK Retail Distribution Team. The role will include:

• Supporting account managers with visits to advisers
• Presenting to both small and large adviser audiences
• Coaching and training of the sales team to ensure they have the appropriate skills, knowledge and focus to successfully implement the M&G strategy

We very much work as a team within the Specialist function, so having a team ethos and being supportive and collaborative are key behaviours for the role. The team currently comprises four specialists. It is expected that the successful candidate will be able to present and discuss all aspects of M&G's product proposition to a high level, as well as having extensive investment, Trust & IHT knowledge.

Qualifications

• A minimum Level 4 Financial Services qualification, such as the Diploma in Regulated Financial Planning or equivalent. Chartered Financial Planner status would be advantageous.

Requirements

• Strong knowledge of the UK financial advice market.
• In-depth knowledge of both legislative and regulatory aspects of pension and investment products.
• Strong technical knowledge, particularly across investments, trusts and inheritance tax.
• Experience within a regulated sales environment, preferably with front line sales experience or specialist support role.
• The confidence to present complex technical subjects in an engaging and accessible way to audiences of different sizes and levels of knowledge.
• Strong relationship-building and influencing skills, with the ability to work effectively across different teams and functions.
• Able to work in a digitally enabled business, using appropriate mechanisms for communication and creating engaging presentations for both internal and external audiences.
• A collaborative approach and willingness to share expertise as part of a small specialist team.
• Must be a self-starter, with a willingness to travel regularly across the South of England to support adviser meetings, events and Distribution colleagues.
• Has high attention to detail.
