[Hiring] Intermediate Accountant @Hunt St

Role Description

We are looking for a capable and detail-oriented Intermediate Accountant to support Australian businesses with a broad range of accounting and payroll functions. This is a hands-on role covering:

• End-to-end bookkeeping
• General ledger accounting
• Balance sheet reconciliations
• Payroll processing
• Month-end reporting
• Financial analysis

You will work across potentially multiple Australian clients and will be expected to:

• Take ownership of your work
• Investigate discrepancies
• Manage competing priorities
• Deliver accurate work within agreed deadlines

Previous Australian accounting experience is preferred but not essential, with training and ongoing support provided in:

• Australian accounting systems
• Payroll procedures
• Reporting requirements

Performance will be assessed against agreed KPIs, including:

• Accuracy
• Timeliness
• Productivity
• Accountability
• Quality of work
• Client communication

Formal performance and remuneration reviews will take place every four months.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field
• Minimum 3 years of relevant accounting experience
• Strong experience in end-to-end bookkeeping and general ledger accounting
• Practical experience preparing and reviewing balance sheet reconciliations
• Experience preparing monthly financial statements and management reports
• Strong understanding of accounting principles and double-entry bookkeeping
• Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel skills
• Experience with cloud-based accounting software
• Strong written and verbal English communication skills
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
• Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
• Ability to consistently meet reporting and processing deadlines
• Willingness to handle a broad range of accounting and payroll responsibilities
• Strong accounting fundamentals, initiative, accountability, attention to detail, communication and a willingness to learn are essential
