[Hiring] Insurance & Revenue Cycle Specialist @Helm

Role Description

We're looking for an Insurance & Revenue Cycle Specialist to join our growing team at The Coordinators! You'd be working remotely with our client in the Plastic Surgery & Aesthetic Services space.

In this role, you will own the insurance and revenue cycle process end-to-end, supporting a high-performing plastic surgery practice with a mix of in-network, out-of-network, and cash-pay patients. You will manage prior authorizations, aggressively follow up on accounts receivable, fight denials, and ensure the practice is collecting what it is owed as quickly as possible. This is a high-impact role tied directly to revenue, where speed, persistence, and accountability matter.

The ideal candidate has strong experience in plastic surgery billing, understands gender-affirming care workflows, and is comfortable navigating complex payer relationships and high-dollar claims.

Responsibilities

• Manage prior authorizations for both in-network and out-of-network procedures
• Own accounts receivable follow-up to ensure timely collections
• Handle denials and appeals, including coordinating peer-to-peer reviews
• Track and secure payment for high-value procedures
• Verify co-pays and ensure accurate patient collections
• Support out-of-network reimbursement workflows
• Assist with LOAs (Letters of Agreement) and payer negotiations
• Input charges, claims, and payments within Nextech
• Maintain detailed tracking of all claims, statuses, and follow-ups
• Collaborate with patient care coordinators on insurance-related workflows
• Provide regular updates on pending, approved, and denied claims

Qualifications

• Experience in medical billing and revenue cycle management (plastic surgery preferred)
• Experience with gender-affirming care billing (required)
• Experience with Harvard Pilgrim and Sigma (required)
• Strong experience with prior authorizations, AR follow-up, and denial management
• Experience navigating both in-network and out-of-network insurance workflows
• Comfortable working with high-value claims and complex reimbursement scenarios
• Familiarity with EMRs (Nextech preferred)
• Strong written and spoken English
• Highly organized and detail-oriented
• Persistent, proactive, and results-driven
• Ability to work independently and take full ownership of workflows
• Strong communication skills with internal teams and insurance providers
• High integrity and ability to handle sensitive information
• High ethical standards, professionalism, and respect in all interactions
• Willingness to learn, grow, and develop yourself professionally

Requirements

• Location: Remote
• Weekly Hours: 9am - 6pm EST (1 hour lunch break)
• Pay Range: $1,100 - $1,500 per month
• Equipment: BYO Devices
