[Hiring] Home Equity Virtual Closing Specialist @U.S. Bank

Role Description

The primary responsibility of this role is to virtually close Home Equity loans for the state of Ohio directly at the customer’s request. Must be comfortable navigating transactions and provide exemplary customer service virtually.

• Process/prepare paperwork and signatures required to close Home Equity loans.
• Interface with Home Equity closing team and other internal partners when needed to close loans.
• Assist in scheduling and coordinating closing date with customers.
• Formalize application for loan approval and enter into the computer or central filing system.
• Determine process interaction needed to satisfy internal, regulatory, and investor requirements.
• Initiate communication with customers/clients, staff, realtors, brokers, counsel, title companies, etc. to obtain needed documents.
• Documentation may include appraisals, title reports, credit reports, verifications, tax returns, financial statements, etc., necessary to complete the file and ensure compliance with internal and regulatory requirements.
• Order title search or other information, as might be necessary.
• Prepare required disclosure information within designated time frames ensuring compliance with all regulations.
• Provide loan status updates to customers/clients or other interested parties, resolve discrepancies or problems, and provide periodic status reports.
• Ensure quality customer service throughout the loan process.
• Review file and loan application after initial setup for accuracy and adherence to terms of approval.
• Review loan package to ensure all legal and compliance guidelines are adhered to.
• Assemble final loan package.
• Calculate loan settlement statements.
• Disburse funds, enter closing information into the loan system, and prepare final packages.
• Coordinate the entire loan package from closing to funding within designated time frames.
• Able to explain feature/benefit to customer at time of closing.

Qualifications

• Remote Online Notaries (RONs) must reside in or be physically present in the state where they are commissioned when performing notarial acts. Residing in Ohio is required for this role.

Requirements

• Ability to work with legal to solve complex documentation needs.
• Knowledge of closing policies and procedures, funding policies, underwriting requirements, governmental and agency requirements, terminology, and automated processing systems.
• Strong organization skills as well as good verbal and written communication skills.
• Knowledge of applicable credit policies and approval processes for assigned product(s).
• Highly preferred up to two years of relevant experience and a remote online notary license (RON).
• Experience with LOS Applications Net Oxygen and/or BLEND.
• Experience working with Home Equity Loans and Lines of credit.
