[Hiring] Fractional CFO @VisionPath CFO

Role Description

This is a strategic-focused role where you'll work closely with owners to build financial strategy, support critical decisions through modeling, and serve as their executive finance voice.

• Work at a deep level with 2-4 VisionPath clients at a time.
• Develop financial strategy in partnership with owners rather than presenting it to them.
• Drive decision-making through rigorous modeling on pricing, contracts, capital structure, and transactions.
• Architect the reporting framework for each business.
• Act as a trusted advisor, coaching and leading clients through difficult conversations and decisions.
• Manage relationships with external parties who touch the numbers: lenders, advisors, CPAs.
• Serve as the most senior finance voice in rooms supporting owners and leadership teams.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience as a CFO or in a similar role.
• Direct experience with owner-led businesses under $50 million in revenue.
• Preferred experience across various business functions, including operations, HR, marketing, sales, and IT.
• Direct experience building financial models for strategic decisions.
• M&A, capital structure, or exit advisory experience.
• Track record managing relationships with external stakeholders: lenders, investors, advisors, or board members.
• Experience conducting board-level financial reviews or C-suite advisory work.
• Deal structuring and financial engineering capability.
• Can independently develop financial strategy and present to ownership.
• A positive, happy attitude and a good sense of humor.
• Responsive and timely in communications with clients and the internal team.
• Must have a computer, stable internet connection, and professional E&O insurance.
• Candidates should operate as a 1099 independent contractor and have their own LLC.

Requirements

• Compensation: $150/hr
• No Business Development: You will not be responsible for bringing in your own clients, VisionPath clients will be delegated to you.
• Flexible working arrangements as an independent contractor.
• Shadowing and onboarding support to ensure a smooth transition.
