Role Description
The Financial Technician performs routine tasks and high-level technical work related to the timely and accurate processing of financial operations. The Financial Technician supports services in the accounting, purchasing, and budget function areas. Duties include:

Support services assignments as needed
Primary duties & responsibilities include:

Review/verify input sources and post financial transactions
-
Assure accurate calculation of financial input and adjustments
-
Check figures to verify accuracy of financial documents
-
Assist with payroll, accounts payable, general ledger, and grant balancing reconciliations
-
Prepare wire transfers for accurate transmission
-
Interact with vendors as needed regarding financial information
-
Prepare and maintain financial, grant, and statistical reports and related documents for financial operations
-
Maintain reconciliation, reporting, and payment of employee benefits
-
File quarterly and annual federal reporting, including 1099βs
-
Assist with the preparation of checks (void and manual) and other financial and procurement documents
-
Provide support services in the areas of general ledger, accounts receivable, accounts payable, and revenue accounting, financial analysis and projections, budget, accounting, financial reporting, grants, and purchasing

Monitor procurement contracts

Provide general office support and customer service
-
Perform all other related duties as assigned
Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent required
-
Associateβs degree in finance related area preferred or related experience to demonstrate the required knowledge, skills, and abilities
-
Five (5) years of bookkeeping or finance experience is required
-
Experience working with tribes and tribal citizens preferred
Requirements

Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook)

Excellent math, communication, and organizational skills
-
Applicants are required to authorize a background check and submit to drug testing

Physical duties include the ability to lift up to fifteen (15) pounds

General office work is required
-
May be required to travel occasionally to attend meetings and conferences
-
Specific vision abilities required include close vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus
