Role Description
Xapo Bank is seeking a mid-level Accountant to support our global financial operations. Working within a fully distributed team of 6 in the Finance department, you will report directly to the Financial Controller. You will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy of financial data, supporting the month-end close process, and assisting with regulatory and audit requirements in a pioneering crypto-banking environment.

Month-End Reporting: Own the preparation of lead schedules and reconciliations for key balance sheet accounts.

Journal Management: Prepare and post journals ranging from standard accruals to complex financial asset adjustments.

Daily Financial Operations: Manage the end-to-end lifecycle of corporate expenses and payables.

Intercompany & Multi-Entity Oversight: Reconcile intercompany transactions across various global entities.

Regulatory & Compliance Support: Collate data and prepare periodic returns for financial regulators, specifically focusing on Gibraltar (GFSC) and UK requirements.

Tax & Statutory Compliance Support: Prepare data for statutory tax requirements.

Audit Support: Act as a key point of contact during internal and external audits.

Balance Sheet Integrity: Perform regular reviews of intercompany accounts and equity movements.
Qualifications

Professional Qualification (Mandatory): You must hold a recognized professional accounting qualification such as ACCA, ACA, CIMA, or CPA.

Experience: 3–5 years in a corporate accounting or audit role. Experience within Fintech or a regulated financial institution is a significant plus.

Regulatory Reporting Experience (Mandatory): Direct experience in the preparation and submission of financial regulatory returns (such as Liquidity or Capital Adequacy). Familiarity with GFSC and UK regulatory frameworks is required.

Accounting Standards: Solid understanding of IFRS.

Technical Stack: Proficient in NetSuite and advanced Excel. You will also regularly use Google Suite, Confluence, Ansarada, Miro, and other specialized financial tools.

Communication: Clear, concise communication skills—essential for explaining financial variances to non-finance stakeholders.
