Role Description

This fully remote, six month contract offers an opportunity for a strong Finance Reporting & Data Assurance Analyst to help build reliable, traceable and audit-ready reporting.
You’ll work across Power BI, Excel and SQL, creating dashboards and financial reports while digging into variances, reconciliations and data quality.
Duties / Key Responsibilities

Build and maintain Power BI dashboards, financial reports and controlled Excel outputs.

Create datasets, calculations, measures and reporting logic.

Turn Finance, Treasury and regulatory requirements into clear reporting solutions.

Reconcile reports back to source data, trial balances and financial control totals.

Investigate mismatches, data issues and unexplained variances.

Test reporting from both a functional and data-quality perspective.

Maintain clear reporting rules, data lineage, test evidence and sign-off records.

Support Finance teams during reporting cycles, submissions and issue resolution.

Work with Finance, Treasury, data and technical teams to get reporting over the line.
Qualifications

Degree in Accounting, Finance, Information Systems or a related field preferred.

Professional accounting qualification, or progress toward one, would be advantageous.
Requirements
-
South African based with eligibility to work in South Africa and willingness to travel to Cairo for one week every two/three months.

5+ years’ experience across finance reporting, financial data, BI or reporting assurance.

Strong accounting, financial reporting and reconciliation knowledge.

Advanced Power BI, including DAX, Power Query, data modelling and report development.

Strong Excel, including complex formulas and reconciliation work.

Working SQL skills with the ability to interrogate and validate data independently.

Experience building both interactive dashboards and fixed-format/paginated reports.

Strong understanding of data quality, transformations and lineage.

Banking, financial services or another regulated environment is highly advantageous.

Regulatory reporting, IFRS-style reporting, data lakes, APIs or event-driven data experience would be useful.

The proposed salary range is R600 - R750 p/h.
