Role Description

We are sharing a specialised part-time consulting opportunity for experienced equity research professionals with deep expertise in financial modelling, earnings analysis, valuation, peer benchmarking, and sector-specific fundamental research to contribute to an advanced AI training and financial analysis project. Selected professionals will apply real-world equity research expertise to datasets and analytical workflows involving company models, earnings analysis, valuation, investment theses, and sector research. The work focuses on ensuring that AI systems learn from high-quality financial reasoning, accurate modelling, and professional research standards. No prior experience in AI is required.

Key Responsibilities

• Equity Research & Financial Analysis
  • Review, assess, and contribute to datasets representing real-world equity research workflows.
  • Analyse company performance, earnings reports, estimate revisions, and operating trends.
  • Evaluate revenue, margin, cash flow, and valuation drivers within company models.
  • Apply fundamental research principles when assessing company and sector performance.
  • Ensure financial analysis remains accurate, relevant, and grounded in professional equity research standards.
• Earnings Analysis & Peer Benchmarking
  • Analyse quarterly and annual earnings results and identify material changes in company performance.
  • Review estimate revisions and evaluate their implications for valuation and investment outlook.
  • Conduct peer benchmarking across relevant companies and industry groups.
  • Identify key sector-specific metrics, operating indicators, and comparative performance measures.
  • Produce concise event-driven analysis based on earnings releases, company developments, and market catalysts.
• Investment Thesis & Valuation
  • Develop and articulate investment theses combining qualitative and quantitative analysis.
  • Connect business drivers, financial performance, competitive positioning, and valuation.
  • Evaluate company models and identify assumptions that materially affect investment conclusions.
  • Assess valuation methodologies and determine whether outputs appropriately reflect underlying fundamentals.
  • Identify company catalysts, risks, and industry trends relevant to investment decisions.
• Research Writing & Quality Evaluation
  • Produce clear, concise, and high-quality written research summaries and analytical updates.
  • Review financial research content for accuracy, logic, completeness, and professional relevance.
  • Explain complex financial conclusions and model assumptions clearly.
  • Provide detailed feedback on data quality, analytical reasoning, and research-related content.
  • Collaborate with project stakeholders to improve financial datasets and evaluation standards.

Qualifications

• Extensive professional experience in equity research, particularly as a sell-side Research Associate, publishing Research Analyst, VP, Director, or comparable role.
• Direct ownership of company financial models and written research.
• Track record of independently covering multiple companies across several earnings cycles.
• Strong expertise in financial modelling, earnings analysis, peer benchmarking, and valuation.
• Demonstrated ability to connect business drivers with financial outcomes and investment implications.
• Deep specialist expertise in at least one sector such as banking, insurance, biotechnology, or another industry vertical.
• Experience developing, defending, and updating investment theses.
• Strong understanding of company catalysts, sector trends, and fundamental research methodologies.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong analytical judgement and attention to research accuracy and quality.
• Ability to communicate complex financial concepts clearly to professional audiences.
• No prior experience in AI research or model training is required.

Engagement Details

• Part-time independent contractor engagement.
• Fully remote.
• Compensation: $175–$300/hour.
• Work will involve equity research analysis, financial modelling, earnings review, peer benchmarking, valuation assessment, and investment thesis development.
• Deep professional experience in fundamental equity research is important for this engagement.
• No prior experience in AI is required.
• Project scope, workload, timing, and duration may evolve depending on project requirements.
• Work must be completed without using confidential or proprietary information belonging to any employer, client, institution, company, or other third party.
