Role Description

King’s Insurance Staffing is partnering with a well-established A+ rated specialty insurance organization seeking an experienced E&S Property Underwriter to support the continued expansion of its contract-binding portfolio. This is an excellent opportunity for an underwriter who enjoys evaluating complex property risks while also contributing to portfolio strategy, product development, and agency growth. The successful candidate will have experience underwriting higher-hazard or non-standard commercial property exposures and the judgment to operate with meaningful underwriting authority. This is a fully remote position!

• Evaluate, price, and negotiate E&S commercial property risks
• Determine appropriate coverage, limits, deductibles, terms, and conditions
• Review loss history, catastrophe exposure, valuation data, inspection reports, and other underwriting information
• Build productive relationships with wholesale brokers and binding-authority partners
• Monitor portfolio performance, rate adequacy, aggregation, and overall profitability
• Identify market opportunities and help refine underwriting appetite
• Contribute to the development of coverage forms, rating approaches, and underwriting guidelines
• Partner with actuarial, loss control, product, and other underwriting teams
• Provide responsive service and participate in producer meetings as needed
• Track market conditions, competitive developments, and emerging property trends

Qualifications

• 5+ years of commercial property underwriting experience
• Background underwriting E&S, specialty, higher-hazard, or difficult-to-place property risks
• Strong individual risk-selection, pricing, and portfolio-management capabilities
• Experience working with wholesale brokers, MGAs, or binding-authority programs
• Coastal and catastrophe-exposed property experience is highly preferred
• Ability to work independently and exercise sound underwriting judgment
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience
• CPCU, ASLI, or another relevant insurance designation is a plus
