Role Description

Clarify is looking for a Director, Financial Planning & Analysis to build and own the financial models and analyses that power decision-making at a fast-scaling, AI-first healthcare technology company. This role sits within Finance and reports to the CFO. You'll build the financial models and analyses that inform the CFO's decisions, help shape how Clarify's financial story is told to the company, the Board, and outside stakeholders, and support the CFO on fundraising, M&A, and other high-stakes work.

This is a hands-on, individual-contributor role for someone trained in a demanding, high-accountability environment - investment banking, private equity, hedge funds, or specialty/credit lending - who is ready to move from advising or evaluating businesses to owning the financial engine of one.

The Director, Financial Planning & Analysis will be responsible for:

• Immediate Priority: Budget & Forecast Automation
• Strategic Forecasting & Financial Modeling (35%)
• Fundraising & M&A Support (25%)
• Revenue Recognition & Commercial Finance Operations (25%)
• Reporting, Systems & Cross-Functional Partnership (15%)

Qualifications

• 6-10+ years of progressive finance experience, with meaningful time in a rigorous, high-accountability environment - investment banking, private equity, hedge funds, or specialty/credit lending - followed by a successful transition into an operating company.
• Advanced financial modeling and diligence skills - can build a complex three-statement model or scenario analysis from scratch, under time pressure, without hand-holding.
• Hands-on experience automating budgeting and forecasting processes.
• Demonstrated ability to teach yourself a new domain quickly.
• An AI-first mindset - active daily use of AI tools (Claude, ChatGPT, or similar).
• Strong business acumen - builds credibility quickly with the leadership team.
• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field.
• Comfort with ambiguity and a complex, evolving business model.

Requirements

• Prior experience at a bank, private equity fund, hedge fund, or healthcare/life sciences credit lender.
• Experience supporting fundraising processes (equity or debt) and/or M&A diligence and integration.
• Familiarity with SaaS metrics and valuation frameworks (ARR, NRR, CAC/LTV, magic number).
• Strong working knowledge of GAAP and revenue recognition standards (ASC 606).
• Experience implementing or scaling financial systems, dashboards, or reporting infrastructure.
• CPA, CFA, or MBA.
• Prior experience operating in a venture-backed, high-growth environment.
• Located in Pacific Standard Time zone.
