Role Description
As Director of Financial Audit for EMEA, you will be the region's financial audit voice and a key driver in scaling Fieldguide's platform across the market. You will translate ISAs, IFRS, and local regulatory expectations into reliable, AI-powered workflows making sure EMEA firms get a platform built for their standards, their regulators, and their way of working.
You will own methodology, platform localization, go-to-market partnership, and customer success sponsorship for the region. Working across product, engineering, sales, and customer success, you will ensure the platform reflects local standards and industry nuance, then scale that impact through strategic partnerships and strong customer outcomes.
This role calls for a detail-oriented leader with sound judgment, depth in a complex regulatory landscape, and the ability to build a function from the ground up.
What Youβll Do

EMEA Audit Methodology & Partnerships

Define the structure and logic behind Fieldguide's out-of-the-box methodology content with our methodology partners (e.g., ISA (UK), ISA as adopted in the EU, and other local frameworks).

Evaluate and incorporate partner-provided industry procedures, testing approaches, internal control testing, and practice guidance into the platform's methodology library.

Build and manage relationships with EMEA standard-setters, professional bodies (e.g., FRC, ICAEW, ACCA, national institutes), and regulators.

Review and refine methodology and engagement templates incorporating feedback from EMEA practitioners into methodology templates and platform content.

AI Collaboration

Partner with AI architects and engineers to translate professional standards and practitioner judgment into prompts, workflows, and guardrails for our integrated methodologies and testing agents.

Direct the localization and customization of Fieldguide's AI agents and audit workflows for EMEA, local GAAS/ISA nuances, regulatory reporting, and firm-specific configurations.

Partner with Engineering and Product to prioritize EMEA-specific platform requirements.

Go-to-Market Partnership

Act as the financial audit subject-matter expert for the EMEA GTM team, leading and supporting customer demos and technical validation sprints.

Represent Fieldguide on customer onsites, building credibility with firm leadership and technical evaluators.

Partner with Sales on deal strategy for complex or strategic EMEA opportunities.

Implementation Partnership

Serve as the financial audit business sponsor for EMEA customer implementations and act as the financial audit subject-matter expert for the EMEA implementations.

Act as an escalation point and unblock complex issues for EMEA accounts.

Monitor customer health and methodology fit, feeding insights back into the product and methodology roadmaps.

Regional Leadership

Advise the Head of Audit and cross-functional leadership on EMEA financial audit priorities (product, methodology, go-to-market and implementation).

Recruit, mentor, and develop financial audit EMEA team members as the team scales.
Qualifications
-
Professional audit qualification (ACA, ACCA, CA, CPA, or equivalent) with deep expertise in ISA and EMEA financial audit standards.

8+ years of financial audit experience at a public accounting or assurance firm, including direct experience with EMEA regulatory and standard-setting bodies.

Strong expertise in auditing standards and audit methodology.

Experience with audit technology, automation, or AI-enabled tools, audit methodologies, templates, or workpapers.

Working knowledge of quality control/quality management standards (e.g., ISWM 1, SQMS 1, PCAOB QC standards) as they relate to methodology and audit documentation.

Ability to translate professional standards into structured workflows and logic.

Strong analytical thinking and ability to work cross-functionally with product and engineering teams.

Executive presence and the confidence to lead demos, onsites, and validation sprints directly in front of firm leadership and regulators.

Experience spanning multiple EMEA jurisdictions, international auditing standards and methodologies (UK, EU, and beyond).
