Role Description
The Clinical Budget Management Director oversees the Clinical Budget Analyst team in Global Clinical Operations. This role leads the group responsible for broader financial understanding or insight into defined clinical projects and will have direct responsibility for the financial health of clinical studies. This role liaises between Clinical Operations, Outsourcing and Finance, providing oversight support for invoicing and overall study budgets, and provides valuable analysis and metrics to help improve the financial management of clinical studies.

Overall management, onboarding and training of the Clinical Budget Analysts

Mentor and train junior staff and provide training opportunities for cross functional teams as needed

Ensures study level budget activities are completed consistently and accurately across the team; provides input on scenario planning and forecasting analyses

Ensures any budget risks or opportunities are appropriately cascaded to the Clinical Budget Disease Area Leads, Finance and other cross functional areas as needed

Creates routine, consistent and standardized approach to reconciliations and defines escalation paths

Understands Governance structure, timing and requirements and prioritizes budget activities as needed with the team

Address any training needs identified by the Change Control SME and support continued compliance with key expectations

Identify needs for automation, tools and AI/Bots to help support future scalability alongside the Clinical Budget Management team

Qualifications

Requires 8-10 years of work experience in a bio-pharmaceutical field

5 years of supervisory/financial management experience

BA/BS degree (Finance or Business is preferred)

Experience with clinical trial budgets or clinical trials

Critical thinker and detail oriented
-
Excellent communication skills both in person and in writing
Requirements

Pay Range: $184,200 - $276,400
-
This role is eligible for an annual bonus and annual equity awards
-
Some roles may also be eligible for overtime pay, in accordance with federal and state requirements

Actual base salary pay will be based on a number of factors, including skills, competencies, experience, and other job-related factors permitted by law
