Role Description

This role is a strategic leadership position responsible for ensuring the integrity, accuracy, and timeliness of all financial reporting. As a pivotal contributor, you will build and enhance processes, controls, and the technical foundation necessary for scalable operations in a fast-paced and innovative environment. • Own and lead the monthly, quarterly, and annual close process, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting.
• Maintain full ownership of the general ledger, financial statements, and all underlying accounting processes.
• Serve as the internal expert on US GAAP and technical accounting matters, including revenue recognition under ASC 606.
• Review customer contracts and establish appropriate accounting treatment and documentation.
• Lead the annual audit process and serve as the primary point of contact for external auditors.
• Coordinate with external advisors on tax filings and compliance matters across jurisdictions.
• Establish and maintain scalable accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls.
• Oversee billing, accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll, and fixed assets to ensure accuracy.
• Own NetSuite as the core accounting system, driving optimization, data integrity, and process automation.
• Implement new accounting standards and ensure ongoing compliance.
• Build and document SOPs, strengthen processes, and continuously improve efficiency and reporting quality.
• Partner closely with Finance leadership and cross-functional teams to support growth and product evolution.
• Hire, develop, and manage the accounting team over time.

Qualifications

• CPA required.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 10+ years of progressive accounting experience, including significant time in a Controller role.
• Deep expertise in US GAAP and technical accounting.
• Strong experience with revenue recognition (ASC 606) and contract review.
• Expert-level proficiency in NetSuite.
• Proven experience leading annual audits and collaborating with external auditors.
• Experience establishing accounting policies and processes in a high-growth environment.
• Strong preference for candidates who have built or scaled an accounting function in a venture-backed company.
• Advanced Excel skills and strong systems orientation.
