Role Description

The Agency Controller is responsible for overseeing all accounting, compliance, and internal control activities for their agency within the SSC organization. This role partners closely with agency leadership, other Shared Services teams, Internal Audit, and Corporate Accounting to ensure accurate accounting, efficient month-end close processes, balance sheet integrity, and compliance with company policies and accounting standards. The Controller serves as a key business partner to agency management while driving standardization, automation, and continuous process improvement across accounting operations.

Responsibilities

• Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual close activities for assigned agency.
• Review and approve journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting documentation.
• Ensure adherence to close deadlines and service level commitments.
• Maintain ownership of balance sheet reconciliations and account certification processes.
• Ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP and company accounting policies.
• Coordinate support for external and internal audit requests.
• Serve as the primary accounting partner for agency leadership.
• Lead, coach, and develop accounting staff and senior accountants.
• Establish performance expectations and accountability measures.
• Drive standardization of accounting processes across agencies.
• Identify automation opportunities to reduce manual effort and improve accuracy.
• Partner with Shared Services and systems teams on process transformation projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance, or other related field.
• Certified Public Accountant License.
• 8+ years of progressive accounting experience.
• 3+ years of leadership or people management experience.
• Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and financial reporting.
• Experience managing month-end close and balance sheet reconciliations.
• Advanced Excel skills.
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Public accounting background.
• Advertising agency, marketing services, media, or professional services industry experience.
• Experience with ERP systems, reporting tools, and financial automation technologies.
• Experience in a Shared Services or global accounting environment.

Compensation

Compensation Expectations are 160-180K.
