Role Description

Cascade Energy is seeking an experienced, hands-on Controller to own the accuracy and integrity of its books and the reliability of its core financial operations. The Controller has ultimate responsibility for all accounting activities, including:

• Accounts payable
• Accounts receivables
• Payroll
• Monthly and annual close processes
• Consolidated reporting
• Cash and banking
• Audits
• ESOP-related accounting and compliance

The ideal candidate is a CPA who combines strong technical judgment with an operational mindset and takes pride in getting the details right every time. This is an individual contributor role with no direct reports. The Controller works closely with the Assistant Controller, who manages the day-to-day accounting team, and with FP&A, HR, and Cascade’s auditors, bank, ESOP trustee, and plan administrators.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or a closely related field
• Active CPA license
• At least 10 years of progressive accounting experience, including at least 5 years of Controller experience
• Strong working knowledge of U.S. GAAP
• Experience closing and consolidating multiple entities
• Experience leading external financial audits
• Experience managing cash, banking relationships, and payment controls
• Excellent attention to detail, judgment, and communication
• Advanced Microsoft Excel proficiency and experience with accounting or ERP systems

Requirements

• Experience at an ESOP-owned company
• Experience accounting for debt, including seller notes and warrants
• Experience with multi-state payroll tax and state compliance filings
• Experience with acquisition accounting and post-acquisition integration
• Experience with Deltek Ajera or similar project-based accounting software
