Role Description
Our Client is looking for a sharp, detail-oriented CFO to own the firm's financial operations. This is a hands-on role rather than a high-level advisory position; the CFO will manage the P&L, oversee accounts receivable, track hourly project billings, and engage directly with clients to ensure timely collections. Serving as a critical partner to the founder, the CFO provides financial visibility and ensures the business maintains a healthy cash flow.
This is a full-time, remote position open to candidates based in Latin America who possess strong English fluency and a U.S.-based educational background.
Key Responsibilities

Financial Management & P&L Oversight

Owns and maintains the firm's profit and loss statement on a monthly basis.

Provides the founder with clear, concise monthly financial summaries including revenue, expenses, margins, and cash position.

Identifies trends, flags anomalies, and recommends adjustments to improve financial performance.

Manages and categorizes operating expenses to ensure accurate reporting.

Accounts Receivable & Client Billing

Oversees all accounts receivable, ensuring invoices are issued accurately and on time.

Tracks hourly project billings across the client portfolio, reconciling logged time against issued invoices.

Follows up proactively with clients on outstanding balances via email and phone, maintaining professional, relationship-preserving communication.

Maintains an up-to-date AR aging report and escalates collection issues to the founder as needed.

Budget Management

Develops and maintains operating budgets aligned with company revenue projections and growth plans.

Monitors actuals versus budget and provides variance analysis on a monthly basis.

Supports project-level budget tracking to ensure engagements remain within scope and margin targets.

Financial Systems & Process
-
Owns the firm's financial tools and workflows (e.g., QuickBooks, Harvest, or similar platforms).

Ensures books are clean, organized, and audit-ready at all times.

Implements process improvements to streamline billing, collections, and financial reporting.

Coordinates with the firm's external CPA for taxes and compliance matters.
Qualifications

Experience:
5+ years in financial management, accounting, or CFO-level roles, specifically within a services or consulting business.

Education:
Bachelorβs degree or higher earned from a U.S.-accredited institution (Nice-to-have).

Skills:
Strong command of financial reporting, variance analysis, and accounting software (QuickBooks preferred).

Communication:
Exceptional written and verbal English skills; comfortable interfacing directly with senior-level U.S. clients for collections and inquiries.
Preferred Qualifications

Prior CFO or senior finance experience at a professional services agency or advisory firm.

Familiarity with project-based or retainer billing models.

Background in financial services, investment management, or B2B professional services.

Experience working with founder-led businesses navigating early growth stages.
