[Hiring] Bookkeeper to Trial Balance @Lesley Snyman and associates

Role Description

A retirement care management company is looking for a Bookkeeper to manage invoicing, supplier accounts and the general ledger to trial balance on Sage, across several retirement villages. The position is remote day to day, with site visits, for a candidate living in Gauteng, and supports the Finance Manager.

• Prepare and maintain the monthly invoicing workbooks for each site, including resident accommodation, nursing services, meals, repairs and maintenance, consumables and resident recoveries
• Request and follow up monthly updates from unit managers
• Maintain supplier workbooks and schedules, and receive, verify and process supplier invoices
• Reconcile supplier statements to the accounting records and resolve discrepancies
• Prepare and submit supplier payment schedules for approval
• Allocate and code bank transactions to the correct accounts, cost centres and sites on Sage
• Perform regular bank reconciliations
• Process and review general ledger transactions, and investigate and correct discrepancies
• Assist with month-end procedures and the preparation of the accounts through to trial balance
• Maintain supporting documentation, audit trails and the electronic filing structure on OneDrive
• Escalate discrepancies, errors or unusual transactions to the Finance Manager

Qualifications

• At least three years' experience as a bookkeeper to trial balance
• Experience on Sage accounting software
• Experience in invoicing, creditors, bank reconciliations and month-end procedures
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
• Able to work independently from home and complete monthly invoicing to deadline
• Experience across several sites, entities or cost centres is advantageous
• A bookkeeping or accounting qualification is advantageous but not required
• Living in Gauteng

Benefits
