Role Description
This role will support a portfolio of small and midsize business clients by delivering reliable, full-cycle bookkeeping services. This is a client-facing role that combines financial expertise, organization, and clear communication to help business owner clients stay informed and confident in their financials.
This person will join a collaborative, fully remote team with structured systems, ongoing support, and opportunities to grow beyond core bookkeeping work over time.
Key Responsibilities

Manage full-cycle bookkeeping for a portfolio of approximately 10β15 small and midsize business clients using QuickBooks Online.

Complete routine bank account, credit card, asset, and liability account reconciliations.

Support year-end close activities by ensuring client books are accurate, reconciled, and complete, and collaborate with CPAs to provide timely financial information and resolve questions ahead of tax filing deadlines.

Prepare and distribute reconciled financial statements, while ensuring outstanding client items are identified and followed up on.

Maintain regular client communication, including two monthly emails and a monthly client call to review financials, answer questions, and address outstanding needs.

Explain financial information clearly and professionally to business owner clients and other client contacts who may not have advanced financial understanding.

Track all time spent on client work and manage workload within established client-hour allocations.

Identify scope creep and confidently guide clients toward the appropriate next step, including discussing whether additional services may be needed.

Follow established internal workflows, SOPs, CRM processes, and documentation standards to keep client work organized and consistent.

Collaborate with managers and teammates to troubleshoot complex bookkeeping questions, share knowledge, and provide support during high-volume periods.

Participate in client account reviews, onboarding activities, and process-improvement efforts as needed.

Maintain a polished, professional presence in written communication and client-facing video meetings.
Qualifications

Experienced user in QuickBooks Online; must be QuickBooks ProAdvisor Level 1 certified.

7-10+ years of full-cycle bookkeeping experience.

Experience supporting year-end close, preparing reconciled financials for tax season, and collaborating with CPAs to respond to questions and provide requested documentation.

Experience supporting AP, AR, and payroll processes, in addition to preparing and reviewing P&L statements, balance sheets, and related reconciliations.

Experience in balance sheet tie-outs and asset/liability reconciliations.

Must have prior experience in public accounting, along with experience in managing multiple client accounts.

Strong client-facing communication skills, including the ability to explain financial information clearly to non-financial audiences.

Confidence in setting boundaries around out-of-scope requests while maintaining positive client relationships.

Ability to manage competing priorities across a portfolio of clients.

Professional written communication and video-call presence.

Strong organization, time management, and comfort tracking time against client allocations.

Comfort working independently in a fully remote, collaborative environment.

Availability during required core hours: MondayβThursday, 9am-2pm CST.
Preferred

Experience with Google Workspace and monday.com.

Multi-entity bookkeeping experience, including intercompany tie-outs.

Ability and interest in supporting teammates, process documentation, systems efficiencies, onboarding, or other operational projects.
