[Hiring] Associate Actuary - Analytics/Forecasting @Humana

Role Description

The Associate Actuary, Analytics/Forecasting analyzes and forecasts financial, economic, and other data to provide accurate and timely information for strategic and operational decisions. The role involves:

• Establishing metrics and providing data analyses to support business intelligence.
• Evaluating industry, economic, financial, and market trends to forecast the organization's financial and competitive position.
• Ensuring data integrity by developing and executing necessary processes and controls around the flow of data.
• Collaborating with stakeholders to understand business needs/issues, troubleshoot problems, conduct root cause analysis, and develop cost-effective resolutions for data anomalies.
• Influencing departmental strategy and making decisions on moderately complex to complex issues regarding technical approaches for project components.
• Working primarily in Databricks to support the development of Net Present Valuation models for Medicare Supplement, Dental & Vision, and Medicaid.
• Assisting with building and enhancing models, collaborating with cross-functional partners, identifying model issues, and proposing practical solutions to improve model performance and accuracy.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree
• Associate of Society of Actuaries (ASA) designation
• Meets eligibility requirements for Humana's Actuarial Professional Development Program (APDP)
• Member of the American Academy of Actuaries (MAAA)
• Strong written and verbal professional communication skills
• Passionate about contributing to an organization focused on continuously improving consumer experiences

Requirements

• Advanced experience using SQL or SAS to analyze, manage and interpret complex data sets and models
• Strong model building skills
• Familiarity with Python or Oracle
