[Hiring] Actuarial Analyst II @The Standard

Role Description

The Actuarial Analyst supports ceded reinsurance operations for Employee Benefits, including Long Term Disability, Group Life, and AD&D. This role is responsible for:

• Monthly claims valuation
• Reinsurance billing
• Reimbursement tracking
• Financial reporting

The Analyst reviews data for accuracy, applies reinsurance treaty provisions, investigates discrepancies, and supports automated workflows. This position also partners with actuarial, accounting, and other teams to support reporting, process improvements, and business needs.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree required; bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience working with data, calculation systems, or reporting tools.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with excellent attention to detail.
• Ability to investigate discrepancies, reconcile data, and interpret business rules or contract provisions.
• Comfortable working with automated processes and technical tools; experience with Databricks, SAS, SQL, Python, VBA, or Azure DevOps is a plus.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
• Effective communication and relationship-building skills with internal and external stakeholders.
