[Hiring] Actuarial Analyst @Amerihealth Caritas

Role Description

This Actuarial Analyst will report to an Actuary on the Medical Economics team. The position is eligible for the Actuarial Development Program, which provides actuarial students with exam support, mentorship, and rotational opportunities.

For roles that are 100% remote or hybrid, you must have access to a reliable high-speed internet connection to support daily job responsibilities. A minimum bandwidth of 50 Mbps download and 5 Mbps upload is required. Those fully remote associates residing in states where service is required by contract, law, or regulation will be allowed to submit for reimbursement.

This is a 100% Remote position but you must live in EST or CST time zones. For local candidates, there is an opportunity to work hybrid at the Ellis Preserve office in Newtown Square, PA.

Responsibilities

• Calculate, monitor, and assess impact of benefit and provider reimbursement changes, cost containment programs, and medical cost and trends.
• Assist in developing and maintaining spreadsheets and databases for purposes of trend and data analytics.
• Perform monthly data analysis projects to assist analysts.
• Assist in validating HVOs.
• Assist in maintaining and developing medical economic databases and applications.
• Assist in developing and refreshing actuarial medical economic models.
• Populate quarterly reporting templates for LOBs.
• Prepare internal and external communications, including that with regulatory authorities and internal management.
• Use best practice models and other industry recognized pricing tools.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Actuarial Science or related field required.
• One to three (1 – 3) actuarial exams.
• Internship experience a plus.
• Knowledge of Excel, SQL, spreadsheets, data visualization tools like Tableau or PowerBI, and database applications used for analysis.
• Strong project management skills.
