Role Description

A US-based company is hiring a full-time remote Accounts Payable Specialist to own high-volume invoice processing, matching, and vendor support for its finance team.

You will handle the full day-to-day AP cycle:

• Coding and entering vendor invoices
• Running 3-way matches
• Resolving variances before they reach a payment run

The finance team works in an on-premise ERP accessed over remote desktop, so a fast, stable connection matters as much as accuracy. Success looks like:

• Clean, current vendor accounts
• Discrepancies caught early
• Payment runs and month-end close delivered on time for controller review

Qualifications

• 3+ years of dedicated Accounts Payable processing experience
• Hands-on 3-way matching experience (invoice, purchase order, receiving document) and variance resolution
• Experience working in a desktop or on-premise ERP accessed through Remote Desktop (RDP), VPN, or Citrix
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including VLOOKUPs and pivot tables
• Strong written and spoken English for phone and email contact with US vendors and internal leadership
• Fiber internet of at least 100 Mbps download and upload, a hardwired Ethernet connection, and backup power (UPS or generator)
• Full availability during US business hours (Eastern or Central time)

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience supporting US-based companies or US corporate accounting workflows
• Experience preparing ACH, wire, and check payment runs
• Experience supporting month-end AP close

Responsibilities

• Review, code, and batch enter vendor invoices, receipts, and check requests into the ERP
• Match invoices against purchase orders and receiving documents to confirm pricing, quantities, and terms
• Investigate and resolve price and quantity variances and unbilled receipts with internal purchasing and warehouse teams and with vendors
• Act as the main contact for vendor questions on payment status, statement reconciliations, and billing disputes, by email and phone
• Audit vendor statements regularly to keep accounts current and surface unrecorded liabilities
• Prepare payment runs (ACH, wire, check), support month-end AP close, and build reports for the controllers

Working arrangement

Full-time remote contractor role, 40 hours per week, aligned to US Eastern or Central business hours. Open to candidates in Latin America or South Africa. Wi-Fi is not permitted for remote desktop sessions. The interview process includes a live internet speed, bandwidth, and remote desktop connectivity test.
