Role Description
The Accounting Team Lead provides day-to-day leadership and supports the accounting team and oversees day-to-day accounting activities, including general ledger, accounts payable and receivable, account reconciliations, and month-end and year-end close. This role ensures accurate, timely financial information and supports compliance with company policies, internal controls, GAAP, and applicable accounting standards.

Lead, supervise, and support the accounting team.

Prepare, review and approve journal entries, reconciliations, and accounting transactions.

Review and validate AP transactions and accruals, for appropriate account coding.

Review data supporting excise tax filings for certain jurisdictions.

Review and validate monthly rent payment schedule, including rent, cam and related expenses, to ensure accurate calculations for timely payment requests.

Oversee SG&A-related AP & AR activities to ensure accuracy and timely processing.

Coordinate and oversee month-end and year-end closing activities and meet reporting deadlines.

Prepare and review account reconciliations and resolve outstanding items.

Perform quarterly sales commission payout calculation, maintain related amortization schedule, and prepare the corresponding monthly and quarterly journal entries.

Maintain the accuracy and completeness of the general ledger.

Investigate and resolve accounting discrepancies and provide appropriate follow-up.

Partner with internal business team to resolve accounting issues and provide accounting guidance.

Support compliance with company policies, internal controls, GAAP, and applicable accounting standards.

Assist the Senior Accounting Manager and/or upper management with special projects, financial analysis, and other accounting initiatives.

Train, coach, and evaluate accounting associates.

Approve weekly timecard for direct reports.

Participate in ad hoc projects and process improvement initiatives as needed.
Qualifications

Bachelorβs degree in Accounting.

5-7+ years accounting experience.

Previous supervisory or team-lead experience.

Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial accounting principles.

Experience with ERP/accounting systems such as SAP, Workday, Oracle, NetSuite, Microsoft Dynamics, or similar. Workday preferred.

Experience with Blackline account reconciliation software preferred.

Strong Excel skills.

Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.

Ability to meet month-end closing deadlines and manage multiple priorities.

Travel - 5%.
