Role Description

L3Harris seeks a Specialist, Accounting to work remotely for the Shared Business Services (SBS) group. The candidate should have proficient knowledge of the job area. May manage projects or processes with general supervision. Will communicate with contacts inside and outside of the department. This position is a great opportunity to learn about all areas of the SBS organization.

Essential Functions:

• Manage construction in progress for designated projects.
• Work with other departments to ensure timely communication of documents related to the acquisition and disposition of fixed assets.
• Maintain the fixed asset ledger by updating it with any additions and disposals of assets.
• Prepare fixed asset related journal entries by assigned due dates.
• Apply GAAP principles to accounting processes.
• Conduct accounting research.
• Prepare and distribute other reports and/or analysis as needed.
• Assist with preparation, analysis, and verification of various schedules for reporting.
• Prepare data for internal and external auditors as requested.
• Be held accountable for the accuracy, confidentiality, and thoroughness of departmental records and reports.
• Assist other members of the Finance and Accounting group as needed.
• Assist in standardizing processes and identification of process improvements.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 4 years of prior relevant experience.
• Graduate Degree and a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience.
• In lieu of a degree, minimum of 8 years of prior related experience.

Requirements

• Knowledge of financial accounting systems.
• Strong computer skills and ability to learn and use applications.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools, especially Excel.
• Good communication skills both written and verbal.
• Ability to work in a team-oriented environment, as well as work independently in a time-sensitive environment.
• Ability to organize workload, adapt quickly to change, and deliver under the pressure of deadlines.
• Ability to meet deadlines and execute commitments.
