The Accounting Specialist oversees the daily activities of accounts payable, purchasing card administration, and related reconciliations. This role supports managers, staff, and employees by providing accurate accounting information and assistance in the areas of accounts payable, employee expenses, and purchasing card processes.

• Perform a variety of accounting tasks and support functions, including processing accounts payable invoices.
• Ensure the accurate entry of expenses.
• Research, track, and resolve discrepancies or inquiries in a timely manner.
• Engage with vendors to address and resolve billing or service disputes, maintaining continuous service operations.
• Investigate and resolve issues related to expense and payment discrepancies.
• Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies.
• Maintain comprehensive and accurate documentation to verify financial records and ensure compliance with established policies and procedures.
• Review purchasing card transactions to ensure accurate coding, proper documentation, and full compliance with company policies and procedures.
• Handle and distribute incoming mail for the Accounting Department.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required. Bookkeeping coursework is preferred.
• 3+ years of experience in an accounting environment with data review and entry experience.
• Must be able to meet requirements for Eckerd’s Auto Insurance and be able to drive for business purposes.
• Required to pass a drug screen in compliance with our Substance Abuse and Drug-Free Workplace policy.

Requirements

• Hourly Rate: $22.00 - $25.00
