Role Description
We are currently seeking an Accounting Senior Specialist (Statutory Reporting & Audit) to join our team in Fully remote, Malaysia, Wilayah Persekutuan Kuala Lumpur (MY-14), Malaysia.

Manage critical projects or larger customer contracts with general direction and may allocate some work to others.

Recommends department process improvements.

Participates in department projects (strategic, tactical and control) where strong analytical skill is required.

Assists internal and/or external audit process as required.

Develops or recommends accounting methods and procedures.
-
Works on critical client accounts and collection issues.
-
Addresses escalated outstanding account balances.
Statutory Accounting β Positionβs General Duties & Tasks:

Responsible for statutory bookkeeping for entities or countries assigned (mainly Europe countries).

Work with outsourced local accounting firm on the statutory financials.

Deal with external auditor to discuss audit timeline, agree on audit scope, and coordinate audit requests from the auditor with internal functions.

Close audit issues, draft financial statements, ensure FS is signed and filed within the deadline.

Interact with teams from other functions to understand the business process and gather supporting documents required by the auditor.

Analyze balance sheet items and support monthly/quarterly reporting requirements.

Monthly closing activities (i.e. preparing & posting journal entries, analyzing financial statements & ledger activities), prepare balance sheet reconciliations, fluctuations.

Provide coaching and guidance to junior team members.

Maintain compliance with corporate accounting policy and stay up-to-date with new accounting standards.

Involve in continuous process improvement and simplification projects.

Support internal & external audit.

Support corporate income tax filing.
Qualifications

Bachelorβs Degree in Finance/Accounting or professional qualification.

Minimum working experience of 3+ years, preferably in an accounting firm and/or MNC.

Excellent communication skills & proficient in English.

Skilled in using Microsoft Office applications (Excel, PowerPoint, etc.). SAP user knowledge is an added advantage.

Possess strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.

Strong time management and organization skills with the ability to multi-task.

Results-oriented, flexible, enthusiastic, self-motivated, and a team player.

Able to work independently and communicate effectively with all levels of management and staff.
