[Hiring] Accounting Manager @Stedi

Role Description

We’re hiring an Accounting Manager to own Stedi’s monthly close and day-to-day accounting operations as the business continues to scale. You will report directly to the Controller and be responsible for:

• General ledger accuracy
• Timely financial reporting
• Accounting processes and controls that support them

Stedi’s accounting function is built around integrated systems, automation, and AI. A major part of this role includes:

• Standardizing and documenting workflows
• Establishing clear responsibilities and review procedures
• Strengthening controls for reliable and repeatable accounting processes

You will evaluate how existing systems and workflows support the business, identify areas for evolution, and use modern tools and AI to improve:

• Accuracy
• Efficiency
• Scalability of accounting operations

What you'll do

• Own the monthly close process, including journal entries, accruals, account reconciliations, and general ledger integrity and accuracy.
• Manage day-to-day accounting operations, including P2P, T&E, and payroll accounting.
• Prepare and analyze financial reporting and supporting schedules, investigate variances, and provide clear explanations of financial results.
• Develop and maintain accounting policies, research accounting questions, and document conclusions.
• Partner with the Controller on complex transactions and translate accounting decisions into practical procedures.
• Build and improve accounting processes and internal controls as the business scales.
• Identify opportunities to automate workflows and enhance financial systems.
• Support cross-functional teams with clear guidance, strong communication, and a practical approach to operational issue resolution.
• Lead the preparation of audit workpapers and supporting schedules, coordinate auditor requests, and serve as a day-to-day point of contact for external auditors.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including at a high-growth, early-stage, or rapidly scaling organization.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA and Big 4 experience preferred.
• Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong working knowledge of U.S. GAAP.
• Highly technical with a focus on automating workflows and using modern tools and AI.
• Ability to thrive in ambiguity and create structure from chaos.
• Relentless and resourceful in problem-solving.
• Ability to move fast and operate with precision.
